Maui Flora

My favorite things about Hawaii are the plants and vibrant colors.  It's like living and walking around in a painting.  In this picture I am standing under a Plumeria tree.  I love these beautiful flowers that smell amazing.
Although I still prefer Kauai, it is definitely worth it to visit Maui.  This island has its own beauty.
I have never been a beach person, but strolling the path that follows the Kaanapali Beach at sunset in Maui is a lovely walk.
This cute little cat was sitting in these plants that were just a few steps away from the beach.  Even this Hawaiian cat was like a painting.  I want my daughter to paint it one day.

I fell in love with these Hawaiian Red Ginger plants with the hot pink flowers.

This top was the Deletta tee from last year that fit nicely, but when I bought the brown and blue, they fit too tightly.  Luckily I bought them on a great sale.  I still wonder if the size on this persimmon color was marked wrong.

Top: Anthropologie Deletta from last year.
Skirt: ModCloth Coastal Break skirt by Hell Bunny.  From Spring.
Necklace: Betsey Johnson Frog from Macys.  A few years old.
Shoes: Payless Zoe and Zac brown Gardenia wedges. A few years old.

  1. The color on your shirt is such a happy red. I love it! And I love it paired with the blue skirt. Stacey - I love how that shirt fits you too. It really shows off your darling figure! Super duper love!

    1. Thank you for the nice compliment! I loved the color on this shirt too which is more deep persimmon/orange. I still prefer the Deletta tees that we both have the best.
I appreciate the compliment on my figure because I'm suppose to be gaining weight and I was afraid that some of the pictures would make me look too skinny and scare people. My gynecologist told me to eat more carbs and is aware that my anxiety levels got too high. I have always had a healthy appetite and I am a huge dessert lover so I am surprised that my weight went down. I don't want it to sound like bragging because it really scared me, but as long as my doctors are not freaking out I feel more at ease.
      Thanks for the positive response,

  2. Wow, Hawaii, how fab! I've always wanted to visit.

Re the Melissa heels. They're basically made of fun, comfortable, candy scented plastic, but shaped into fashionable designs. They come in heels, wedges, sandals, thongs, and of course rain boots. The Mel by Melissa range is the cheaper option, while the melissa range normally teams with designers like Vivienne Westwood so they're really fun and still relatively afordable. Here's the Melissa website: and the Mel by Melissa: :)

    1. Thank you for the Melissa shoe information. I will have to check them out.
You will have to make a point to visit Hawaii. I love Kauai, the garden island with all of the beautiful plants and flowers. This was my first trip to Maui and it's lovely too but I still prefer Kauai.
      Thank you for stopping by,

  3. Gorgeous photos! You fit into the Hawaiian jungle-garden backdrop perfectly! The blue and red look so striking against one another. And I love the sweet touch of the flower in your hair.

Kyle and I definitely have a trip to Hawaii on our bucket list. We're trying to take a big trip a year to satisfy our wanderlust. In just a week or so, we're off to Scotland - our first European vacation. I'm about to burst at the seams, and seeing your vacation photos just makes me all the more excited!

    1. Thank you for the sweet compliment. Hawaiian colors add so much to photos so it makes the blog process more fun.
Have a great and safe trip to Scotland. That is on my list of places to go especially since my dad is half Scottish and it would be fun to see where my relatives originated.
It is great that you are traveling and that Hawaii is on your list. When you two want a more relaxing vacation, Hawaii is the way to go.
      Have fun,

  4. I love, love, love the picture of you with your eyes closed and the flora around you. You look gorgeous. I am glad you liked Maui. It is our favorite. It looks like we will have to miss out next year as we are visiting family. But I am going to try my best to make it happen. I love that place.

  5. Hi Jenni,
My husband was going for a holding up the sun pose when he took this picture.
Thank you for the compliment but Hawaii gets a lot of credit because it has the best backdrops.
We did not get our fill with Maui since we only had four days and we lost a half day because of the missed plane fiasco. I could spend weeks there, I love it so much.
    Thanks for stopping by,
